We are a geneology family history research company that exclusively work within Scottish geneology research. We have been researching family trees in Scotland in detail for over 5 years. The official records began in 1855 in Scotland when it became compulsory to register birth, deaths and marriages. The records for this period are therefore fairly accurate and can be found with proper research. Old Parish records (OPRs) exist before 1855 in many parishes and the oldest date to around 1560 but are less complete and sometimes whole chunks of records have not been kept.
We can accurately research your family tree to 1855. Depending on the OPR's we can also research further back to 1800 or 1700 in many instances but this is often more time consuming and is dependent on joining all the pieces of the jigsaw together to get the overall picture.
